The Autumn Winter Collection Is Here
Our autumn winter collection has arrived, and it is one we are rather proud of, so allow us to introduce it properly before we show you how it all came together.
This season brings new silhouettes to the range, and, as we always do, we have named them after the team: the Abi, the Rosie and the Izzie. We have named our bags after our own people since the very beginning!
Alongside them, our best-selling Lucy returns in two new shades, which we suspect a fair few of you have been waiting for.
The season is built around four colours: burgundy, chocolate, navy and mink. Burgundy adds a little depth, chocolate works with the rest of the autumn palette, and navy stands in as a softer alternative to black, while mink, a long-standing favourite of yours, sits comfortably alongside them.
For all their richness, these are bags designed to be lived in and carried day to day, rather than kept for best and left in the wardrobe. That, more than anything, is what we set out to make.
How we shot it
Rather than book a studio, we kept the whole thing close to home. Our small team headed into Pimlico and worked out of one of our founders' flats for the day, which is very much how we tend to do things. One of our founders took every photograph herself, while Georgie, our other founder, looked after hair and makeup, as she always does on our shoots.
The styling was ours too. We did not bring in a stylist, and instead planned the looks ourselves beforehand, pulling pieces together from all of our own wardrobes until we had outfits we were happy with. Our model for the day was Silena, a university student, who we have worked with many times and is always wonderful.
We wanted a setting that felt like real London rather than a clean studio backdrop, so we hired out a local launderette, with its rows of washing machines, its tiled floors and that flat, fluorescent light you only ever seem to find in those places. We also shot inside the Regency Café, which anyone who knows Pimlico will recognise straight away. The result had a bit of grit to it, lived-in and a little unglamorous, which was exactly the feeling we were after for these bags.
What the photographs do not show, of course, is quite how warm it was. We had somehow managed to choose one of the hottest days of the summer. A great deal of coffee was drunk and a great many hand-held fans were passed around between takes, but we got there in the end, and enjoyed ourselves along the way.
